Privacy Policy for OmniSpeed 16X Chrome Extension
Effective Date: August 8, 2026
OmniSpeed 16X - Universal Video Controller ("the Extension") is developed, published, and maintained by Lumzea Labs ("we", "us", or "our"). We believe strongly in privacy, user autonomy, and data security. This Privacy Policy explains how our extension operates and confirms our strict zero-data collection architecture.
🔒 Executive Summary
OmniSpeed 16X is a 100% client-side tool. We do NOT collect, track, store, transmit, or sell your personal data, web browsing history, IP address, or media activity. All playback speed settings stay exclusively on your local browser device.
1. Information Collection and Use
OmniSpeed 16X does not require account creation, registration, or login. We collect zero personally identifiable information (PII). Below is a breakdown of technical components and how data is handled:
| Data Category | Collection Status | Details & Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Personal Identifiable Info (PII) | None (0%) | Name, email, credentials, or phone numbers are never requested or stored. |
| Browsing & Host History | None (0%) | We do not track or log websites visited, URLs opened, or search histories. |
| User Playback Preferences | Local Only | Target speed (e.g. 2.5x), pitch toggles, and hotkeys saved locally via chrome.storage.sync. |
| Third-Party Telemetry / Ads | None (0%) | No Google Analytics, Firebase, ad trackers, or third-party telemetry scripts. |
2. Chrome Extension Permissions Justification
To deliver universal HTML5 video playback control up to 16X across websites (including DIKSHA, YouTube, Udemy, and Coursera), the Extension requests the following Manifest V3 permissions:
storage: Allows storing your speed preferences locally so you don't have to re-select speeds when navigating course modules.activeTab&scripting: Enables communicating user-requested speed commands to the active HTML5 video element on your screen.<all_urls>(Host Permissions): Allows the content script to detect<video>elements and nested player iframes across arbitrary educational and video streaming domains. No page content or data is read or transmitted.
3. Remote Code Policy
OmniSpeed 16X strictly complies with Chrome Web Store policies. The Extension contains zero remote code execution (no external eval(), no runtime CDN script fetching, and no external JS modules). All JavaScript modules are packaged 100% locally within the extension archive file.
4. Third-Party Services and Links
The Extension operates independently without communicating with remote third-party servers. If you navigate to external websites while using the browser, those third-party sites are governed by their own privacy policies.
5. Children's Privacy
OmniSpeed 16X is suitable for students, educators, and users of all ages. Because we do not collect any personal information whatsoever, our service fully respects and complies with children's privacy regulations (including COPPA and GDPR-K).
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect technological improvements or regulatory updates. Any updates will be published immediately on this page with an updated effective date.
